Baix Empordà project

In the village of Baix Empordà (Girona), Cases Singulars del Empordà has had the opportunity to completely renovate an old village house from 1850 of about 470m2, with enormous potential, which had never been reformed and was in a state of important deterioration.

The before and after pictures of this reform project are really spectacular and show us that no matter how old a house is, we can make it look like another one.

Cases Singulars de l'Empordà proposed to eliminate spatial limits in order to achieve wide and luminous visual perspectives while maintaining the rural essence of the house. The complex breathes an authentic, welcoming and very luminous air.

In order to maintain the essence and personality of this rural house, the architectural studio kept some elements of the house's past such as the bricks and the wooden beams. Their combination with the modern furniture has allowed to create an elegant and warm space with rustic reminiscences.

Cases Singulars del Empordà created on the ground floor a unitary space composed of an open kitchen, a dining room and a double height living room where two rooms are differentiated thanks to a fireplace designed especially for this space. From this unitary space you can appreciate, thanks to a large window, the garden with its infinity pool and overflowing waterfall. The main suite on the upper floor is accessed via a transparent staircase that also leads to the outside.

On the outside, the studio took advantage of the natural profile of the courtyard by creating a large porch and a pavilion designed for a wellness area in which high quality materials have been chosen, such as our Copla whirlpool bath equipped with the Elegance system, which is embedded in the wooden floor of the Spa's interior.

All the reform carried out by Cases Singulars del Empordà has been done following sustainability criteria:

- Roofs and floors are thermally insulated.

- The windows and balconies are new with thermal break and double glazing with low emission.

- The house has solar panels for the contribution of hot water to both the house and the SPA and has a domotic system for the control of lighting and air conditioning, among others.

With this reform, Cases Singulars del Empordà managed to renew an old village house, respecting at all times its essence, so that it remains a house with a lot of character.
