Domotics in the bathroom

Many times we come home tired and wanting to relax. One of the best ways to do this is by taking a shower or a relaxing bath, so our toilet should be a place of relaxation and rest. Home automation and intelligent systems are becoming more and more common in Spanish homes and the bathroom is no exception. New technologies are capable of taking our toilet to another level.

Applications of home automation in the bathroom

Although it is true that home automation has been slow to arrive in the bathroom, the truth is that intelligent systems are being developed for the bathroom more and more frequently.

As in the rest of the rooms, energy saving and improvement in the quality of life are the main objectives sought by this type of system.

1.Intelligent toilets

From toilets that heat the bowl with sensors to those that raise and lower the lid when they detect movement... or through Alexa.

Similarly, there have long been toilets that flush automatically when they detect movement has stopped.

  1. Smart toilets

Toilets that clean themselves and even identify the number of people using a public toilet. This latter information is used to help cleaning professionals organize their work better.

  1. Smart showers and baths

There are baths and showers that reduce water consumption thanks to presence sensors. The temperature can also be programmed according to the time of year or controlled on/off via a device with an Internet connection.

  1. Intelligent hand dryers

They work with motion and presence detectors

  1. Smart mirrors

Connected to a wifi network, they allow you to listen to music and even read your emails while using the bathroom.

  1. Smart taps

This type of tap performs certain functions that can be executed through a smartphone or LCD screens that are incorporated into the system. They also have motion detectors to turn on or off.

This type of faucet saves on resource consumption.

  1. Water leaks

Thanks to the home automation system, a water leak can be detected and immediately the main supply valve can be closed to stop the leak. In the same way, the electricity can be cut off to avoid accidents and short circuits.

This type of system sends alerts to the user whether he is inside or outside the house.

  1. Smart bathroom

They consist of a smart toilet (which also functions as a bidet), a sink and a shower. These elements are intuitive and have sensors that detect when the cup should be emptied or the tap opened to let water out.

9.Relaxing scenarios

You can create environments thanks to resources such as water temperature control, lighting intensity or music. This can be done via a smartphone, tablet or computer.

10.Anti-intrusion alarm

They're not just for the bathroom, but to protect the whole house.

  1. Smart timer

This automated system controls the air that circulates inside the bathroom, thus avoiding the waste of energy that occurs in the bathroom if we leave the bathroom air on.

There are also intelligent thermostats that allow you to control the temperature of the heating in the house (including the bathroom) through remote controls or mobile devices.
