6 reforms for small bathrooms

Do you think that in a bathroom of a few meters you can not make reforms that are worthwhile? Nothing could be further from the truth. With or without works, with a large budget or even a very small one, you can transform it in an incredible way. How? Here we give you some ideas.

  1. Total change

If money is not an issue and you don't like the way it looks now, 'redesign' your bathroom. Analyze if the distribution of the toilets is the best to make the most of every centimeter and, if not, change them. Your bathroom will become more spacious.

And, since we are talking about construction work, take advantage of this to change floors and coverings for other more modern ones. Remember that light colours give a greater sensation of space and that if you choose tiles with textures you will give the bathroom a much more modern and dynamic touch.

  1. Replace the bathtub

If the bathroom is too small, this is one of those essential reforms. With a shower you will gain space, comfort and safety. Moreover, the work is done in just one day and without the need for complex works. By the way, the screen is always transparent and, if possible, with little profiling or sliding doors, which do not need space to open.

  1. Change toilets

If your bathroom has a bidet and you barely use it, maybe you can do without it. And you'll also notice the difference when you replace the old toilet with a smaller one. Remember that in a small bathroom all the centimetres you can gain will allow you to move around in it with much more ease.

  1. A more functional piece of furniture

Storage space is a must in any bathroom, but sometimes furniture takes up a lot of space. There are also very practical and decorative solutions. You can replace the furniture with a simple countertop, which is much lighter. And if you need space for your things, you can put a shelf underneath and decorative baskets.

But if you don't want to do without the furniture, you can always choose a small base, which is less than 40 cm. If it is suspended, it will also look much lighter visually. And all this without giving up that important space for storing your toiletries.

And on the cabinet, a large mirror. Don't set yourself limits, they reflect the light and in a small bathroom it's always a good trick to make it look bigger.

  1. Improve the lighting

Does the bathroom have a window? Perfect! Don't cover it, let the light through because it's the best way to make it look much bigger. But if there's no natural light or possibility of opening a window, even a small one, play with artificial light. Place several points of light, always enhancing the mirror area, for example, with some LED strips.

  1. Put a sliding door

Flap doors need space to open. Does the one in your bathroom brush against the sink or hit the toilet? If so, see if you can replace it with a slide. You will be removing an obstacle that can be very annoying to move. If there is not enough room on the wall, you can always opt for folding doors, which do not take up any space.

With these reforms you can make your bathroom beautiful and functional, even if it is only a few meters long. You can see that in order to make the most of it, it is not always necessary to spend a lot of money or do big works.
